Divine Kidz Dayhome approach to educating young children is based on the The Montessori Method of Education which was created by Maria Montessori, one of Italy’s first female doctors, in the early 1900s. This approach believe that play is a child’s work. Children choose activities based on their interests and “work” for uninterrupted blocks of time. Teachers observe and track their progress, and facilitate their use of materials. Through this approach, it’s thought that children become more confident, independent, self-regulated and self-disciplined. Lastly, social interactions are of major importance in our dayhome

The basic premise of this philosophy is divided into three parts:

1. We believe that every child is unique and special in their own way
2. To recognize that children do go through specific stages of development, which is why our programs are more of child-directed, emphasizing active, self-paced, individualized learning, and,
3. To understand that the interactions or experiences that we have as individuals affect and shape each stage of our development and how each individual learns

Therefore, Divine Kidz Dayhome curriculum is designed around the individual students, as well as the whole class. The children's personalities, interests and experiences are all collaborated when lessons are being planned.
